Campus Cults’ Music & Dance

Oseo John Omoruan

Campus Cult is generally associated with violence, not just by the general public, but by members of these organizations as well. But there is more to Campus Cult than just violence and bestiality. Nigeria as the birth place of Campus Cult in Africa is blessed with a rich musical diversity which the Campus Confraternities and Cults members have infused into their music.

This book introduces not just the general public to the Campus Cult Music, but also the Campus Cult Members who are supposed to be their “Intellectual Property Right”, with obligations as well as privileges. Unfortunately, the appreciation is severally limited most times to areas where these various campus cults dominate. The effect is that within Nigeria, Campus Cult Music has failed to go beyond a midnight fad.
